Rowden, 87, Monroe, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday in Adams County Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 16, 1913 in Adams county to Glenn and Mary L. Wechter Workinger and married Clarence Rowdon on August 15, 1931; he died on September 11, 1996 She retired in 1978 as an admissions clerk at Caylor Nickel Medical Center in Bluffton and was a member of Monroe Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; and the church's Builders Sunday School class, of which she was president. Surviving are five sons, Glenn T. Rowden of Deland, Florida; William C. and Richard L. Rowden, both of Fort Wayne; John "Jack" Rowden of Jackson, Michigan; and Gerald A. Rowden of Eldersburg, Maryland; two daughters, Mrs. John (Marie) Rauch and Mrs. Douglas (Margaret E.) Edgar, both of Monroe; two brothers, Charles Workinger of Monroe and Dale Workinger of Berne; a sister, Flo Brandt of Bluffton; 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; a foster great-grandchild and seven great-great-granchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Monroe United Methodist Church, with burial in Ray Cemetery, rural Monroe. Visiting hours are until 8 p.m. today in the Fellowship Hall of Monroe United Methodist Church and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. Preferred memorials are to the United Methodist Women.
