He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Born in Decatur on Dec. 3, 1922, he was the son of Walter and Lelah-Hill Roop, and was never married. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Shackley, 103 Windsor Ct. One brother, Robert Roop, died Feb. 11, 1983. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Winteregg-Linn & Haggard Funeral Home, Rev. James Hook officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are to the American Diabetes Association or Adams County Heart Fund.
