Madison, died at 7:15 a.m. today at her residence following an illness of one year. She was a homemaker. She was born January 19, 1908, in Wren, Ohio, the daughter of William H. and Pearl M. (Gause) Cook, and was married to Adam O (Buck) Johnson on Aug. 10, 1929; he preceded her in death on May 27, 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Catherine) German and Mrs. Omer (Patsy R.) Sites, both of Van Wert; two sons, William Johnson of Fremont, Indiana, and Alvin (Junior) Johnson of 115 S. 15th St., Decatur; a grandson she raised, Rex Thatcher, at home; four sisters, Opal Hess, 804 Line St.; Isabel King, 709 No. 10th St.; Josephine Hirschy, Geneva; Rosie Lough, 1109 Bollman, Decatur; seven brothers: Lester Cook, route 5, Decatur; Virgil, Richard and Wilbur Cook, all of route 7, Decatur; Dale Cook, route 2, Ohio City, Ohio; Herbert Cook, Decatur; William Cook, route ?, Rome City; 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Roy and Albert Cook; a sister, Betty Kipfer; and one granddaughter are deceased. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Zwick-Sefton & Jahn Funeral Home, Rev. Sylvester Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
