Death followed a long illness of complications. Born in Fayette county, O., Nov. 25, 1867, he was a son of John and Sarah Allen-Haggard, and had spent most of his life in Adams county. He moved to Decatur one year ago and to Berne six weeks ago. His first wife, Susie Martz, died in 1909, and his second wife, Amelia Walker, also preceded him in death. He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church, three miles southeast of Monroe. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Addie Gilbert of Monroe, Miss Dorothy Haggard and Mrs. Frances Beitler of Berne; one son, Sam Haggard of near Monroe; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Osie Johnson of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry of Monroe, Jason of Holiday, N. D. and Harry of Pontiac, Mich.; and three sisters, Mrs. Robert Noffsinger and Mrs. Grace Erp of Monroe, and Mrs. Ed Roe of Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the home and at 3 o'clock at the Wesleyan Methodist church, the Rev. W. F. Siders and the Rev. Noah Wis??halter officiating. Burial will be in the Ray cemetery near Monroe. The body will be removed from the Lob??? funeral home to the residence where friends may call after 4 o'clock this afternoon.
