Beitler, 79, 521 S. 13th St., died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday in Adams County Memorial Hospital. The onetime Kendallville street commissioner was born on January 23, 1912 in Adams County to Lawrence and Lydia Nussbaum Beitler. He married Margaret Ray on October 25, 1930; she died on February 6, 1981. He married Betty Leimenstoll on August 5, 1981; she survives. He retired from L.H. Gunsallus and Son, a Kendallville business. He was a member of Decatur Church of God. Other survivors are one son, Robert L. Beitler, Pendleton, Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Pat) Arnold, Monroe, and Mrs. Mike (Judy) Haney, Kendallville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Daniel (Karen) Eckelbarger, Craigville; nine grandchildren; one step-grandson; and 15 great-grandchildren. A grandson and a granddaughter are deceased. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday in Haggard and Armes Funeral Home, with burial in Springhill Cemetery, Adams County. Visiting hours are 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Preferred memorials are to the Decatur Church of God Building Fund. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
