Kipfer, 65, formerly of 257 N. Seventh St., died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday at Decatur Community Care Center, where she had resided for the last five years. She attended Decatur United Brethren Church. Born in Root Township on Dec. 29, 1920, she was the daughter of William H. and Pearl Mae Gause-Cook, and was married Nov. 9, 1945, to Obed (Pete) Kipfer; he died Sept. 2, 1967. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Melissa) Selking, route 8, Decatur; eight brothers, Lester Cook, route, 3, Decatur; Virgil Cook, Wilbur, Dale, Richard and Herbert Cook, all of route 7, Decatur; William Cook, route 1, Rome City; Albert C. Cook, Decatur; five sisters, Mrs. Josephine Hirshey, Geneva; Mrs. Clifford (Opal) Hess, Mrs. Hazel Johnson, Mrs. Everett (Rosie) Lough, and Mrs. Isabelle King, all of Decatur; and three grandchildren, Laura, Christoper, and Douglas Selking. One brother, Roy Cook, is deceased. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zwick-Boltz & Jahn Funeral Home, Rev. Sylvester Martin officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, and one hour prior to services Saturday. Memorials are to the Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
