Essex A Monroe native, Glenn E. Essex, 56, of Fort Wayne, died in his home at 6 a.m. today following a long illness. He was born on May 11, 1930 to Clifford and Martha Essex and was a retired truck driver, working 30 years for Commercial Motor Freight of Indiana. Survivors include a son, Don Essex of Fort Wayne; three daughters: Pamela Gates of Merrillville, and Diana and Glenna Essex of Fort Wayne; a brother, Lester Essex of Tri Lakes, Indiana; two sisters: Georgianna Essex of Oceanside, California and Lois Arends of 309 S. 11th St.; and two grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at the Monroe Cemetery on Saturday, August 16. Preferred memorials are gifts to the Parkview Hospital Oncology Center in Fort Wayne.
