Diehl taken by death Mrs. Marie E. Diehl, 65, of Fort Wayne, a native of Decatur, who resided in Fort Wayne for 30 years, died at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's hospital. Mrs. Diehl was a member of the Auxiliary of Elmer Pond Chapter One, Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are three sons, Paul Evans, Fort Wayne; George Evans, Shelby, O., and William Evans, in the Army on Okinawa; a daughter, Mrs. Opal Shipley, Lake Wawasee; two brothers, Clifford and Robert Hess, Decatur; two sisters including Mrs. Irene Lyons, Decatur; 22 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Friends may call at the D.O. McComb & Sons funeral home after noon today. Rites will be there at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Howard Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove cemetery.
