Saturday evening at her home, 922 West Monroe street, after being confined to her bed but a week, following a severe cold, which developed pneumonia and which aggravated weak heart, occurred the death of Mrs. Emma Baker, well-known Decatur lady. The announcement of her death came as a great shock to member of her family and their many friends, when the news became known Sunday morning. Mrs. Baker was sixty-one years old last July 31, and had lived in Adams county all of her life. She was born July 31, 1860, in this county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Myers. She was united in marriage thirty-one years ago to Thomas Baker, his death occurring eleven years ago. To them were born six children, five sons and one daughter. They are Mrs. Joe Hunter, Ora, Ivan, Adrian and Floyd and Lloyd, the latter two being twins. There are one grandchild, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Frank Johnson of Roann, Wabash county; Mrs. Henry Marbaugh, Blue Creek township, and George Myers of Marion, O. A step-mother, Mrs. Betty Myers, and four half-brothers, Frank, Charles, Roy and Andrew Myers also survive. Mrs. Baker had been a member of the Methodist church many years, and funeral services will be held from that church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Charles Tinkham officiating.
