Author: MargieRoopPearce Surnames: Hilyard, Mercer, Mann, Mattox, Fortney Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.adams/3270/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Decatur Dailey Democrat, Adams Co, IN; Friday, 25 Mar 1965 Mrs. Lee Hilyard Is Taken By Death Mrs. Lenore Hilyard, 69, a resident of Decatur and Adams county most of her life, died Thursday at a South Bend [St. Joseph Co] hospital, where she had been a patient since breaking her hip in a fall on the ice March 18. She had undergone surgery Monday. Mrs. Hilyard had been a resident of the Haven Hubbard home at New Carlisle since the death of her husband, Lee Hilyard in 1955. She was born in Adams county July 7, 1895, and was a member of the Decatur Evangelical United Brethren church. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Evelyn Mann of Warsaw; two cousin, Marold Mattox of Geneva, and Lee Mattox of Bluffton, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry Fortney of Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Haven Hubbard home, with the Rev. Herbert Ryan officiating. The body will be brought to the Decatur evangelical United Brethren church (Bethany) where it will lie in state from 1 p.m. until services at 2 o'clock Monday. Rev. Ryan will officiate, assisted by the Rev. F. F. Miller. Burial will be in Decatur cemetery. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
