Murphy, 85, died at the Decatur Community Care Center at 9:50 a.m. Thursday after an extended illness. She was born on October 22, 1893 in Preble Township, Adams County, to William and Elizabeth Scherry-Lammert and married on February 17, 1946 to Henry D. Murphy who preceded her in death. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Bertha Liniger, Decatur and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place at the Zwick Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Sunday with Rev. Howard Beer in charge. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery with services at 4 p.m. Monday. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of the service Sunday. Preferred memorials are to the Zion United Church of Christ where Mrs. Murphy was a member. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
