ADAMS CO., INDIANA INDEX OF DEEDS SCOLES, ANDREW, July 19, 1837. 160 acres nw 1/2, 29-26-15, 16 Jan 1918 Bk 46 p.488 SCOLES, GEORGE, Oct. 20, 1837, 69.40 acres E1/2, SE1/4.15-25-15, 4 March 1890 Book 46, p. 435-436 Andrew Scoles was my ancestor. He bought this land in Adams Co & soon after moved from Knox Co., OH. My BIG question is who was George? Andrews son George was only 17 & still living w/ his parents until he married in 1850. I really don't believe this is his son. Also a copy of this land deed says "George Scoles, of Mercer Co., OH". Andrew's said "of Knox Co., OH". So agian, it's not his son. I believe it was his brother but have no proof. Andrew is the only Scoles in Adams Co for the 1840 census, there is a George up in Kosciousko where other Scoles families went. Again no PROVEN connection to my Andrew. Andrew died 1855 & I've been told there is no record of a will or estate settlement. He had a lot of land so this is hard to believe. Thanks for any clues! Cindy
