Cindy - From the 1979 History of Adams Co, Indiana, the family submitted this information in their biography: Harvey L. Sipe (Dec 28, 1885 to Agu 16, 1943) and Mary M. Kelley (July 23, 1885) reared four children: 1. MARY M.3 KELLEY (SAMUEL F.2, PATRICK1) was born July 23, 1885. She married HARVEY SIPE, son of ANDREW SIPE and CATHERINE FALLEN-SIPE. Children of MARY KELLEY and HARVEY SIPE are: 2. i. EARL4 SIPE, b. August 25, 1906, Blue Creek Twp, Adams Co, IN. 3. ii. LESTER K SIPE, b. 1911, Blue Creek Twp, Adams Co, IN; d. 1974, Adams Co, IN. iii. MARJORIE SIPE, m. ROBERT CABLE. iv. ROBERT L. SIPE, b. Blue Creek Twp, Adams Co, IN; m. ALYCE GILPIN. Harvey (Sipe) was a native of Blue Creek Township, Adams Co, IN. Mary Kelley is the daughter of Samuel F. and Elizabeth Minerva (Deo) Kelley. Samuel and Minerva were proprietors of the Rice Hotel in Decatur around 1900 and it was the job of Mary and her brothers to carry the suitcases and wait on tables. The hotel did a thriving business with the many salesmen who would come to town to peddle their wares among the local merchants. Samuel died in 1917 and Minerva died 1928. They are buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Blue Creek Twp. Mary's grandfather was Patrick Kelley, a native of Dublin, Ireland. Patrick first settled in Pennsylvania where he married a Miss AXE. After their marriage they moved to Zanesville,Ohio area and from there migrated to section 21 in Wabash Township (Adams Co, IN). their children were James, George, John W., Samuel F. and B. C.
