Pat, Thanks so much. The Patrick/Ireland Kelley family isn't mine. Also I have the 1979 History but didn't look in it. duh. Actually I've geaned all the info from it on my lines, but if I'd opened it up I would have known! I'll tell you a funny story abt these 2 Kelly/Kelley families if all of you descended from Patrick promise not to hold it against me! My Great-Grandmother was Katie Kelly, daughter of Jonathan Kelly & wife of Frank Scoles. She told her children that her father had told them "our Kelly's are NOT Irish!". Well I can imagine the reason she said this, her Kelly's were most likely Scots-Irish, Protestant, & I know they had been here in the US since at least the time of the Revolution. Jonathan Kelly was making a distinction between his Kelly ancestors & the "newcomers" from Ireland. I found this other Kelley family in the census & noted that they didn't live too far away from "my" Kelly's. It was then that I remembered what my Grandmother had told us! Thanks again. Oh I have other related Sipes too, seems they were popular in Adams Co! :>) Cindy Torres Owens Stafford, VA cindyo@staffnet.com http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/o/w/e/Cindy-L-Owens/index.html
