    3. In my experience there are very few Indiana death records in the 1870's. A few were filed in Fort Wayne itself, but generally not in rural areas like Decatur. Your better chance will be if you can find a church burial record for her because these could be more detailed, depending on the pastor or priest. Obituaries in that period were usually quite short and general, and often did not run for women at all unless an accident or other unusual event like a fire had occurred.
