For a long time I have wondered about the availability of old newspapers in Adams County, and how often they were published. My grandmother used to tell me that her grandparents took her father's name out of the newspaper. Her father's name was Heenan Sayers LHAMON. He was born on 17 April 1861--the first anniversary of the prize fight between John C. HEENAN and Tom SAYERS. The next issue of the paper must have mentioned this. But given the date, I would have expected the paper to be full of news about the beginning of the war. Any ideas, anyone? Thank you, Jane Irish Nelson in Puget Sound
