(Dick) Foreman, 57, 1503 West Monroe St., a well-known Decatur resident who served as Adams County dog warden for the sheriff's department for nine years, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at his residence, following an extended illness. Mr. Foreman was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Homer Pierson Post 207 of the American Legion, Willshire, O., and the VFW and Moose Lodge. Born in Decatur on March 13, 1922, he was the son of Clarence E. and Florence Venis-Foreman, and was married on Feb. 24, 1952 to Martha Painter who survives. Also surviving are the mother, a resident of Decatur; four children, Mrs. Kenneth (Sheila) Hollopeter, Cincinnati, O., Jerry, William (Bill) and Michael (Mike) Foreman, all of Decatur; one brother, Donald Foreman, route 3, Decatur; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. One brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Winteregg-Linn and Haggard Funeral Home, with Rev. C. Albert Nunery officiating. Mr. Morrison was a St. Mary's township farmer and also drove a school bus for Adams Central Schools until retiring in 1983 after 21 years of service. He was a member of Decatur Church of Christ and American Legion Post 207 in Willshire, Ohio. He was a World War II veteran and was an airplane mechanic with the United States Air Force stationed in Texas. Born on December 15, 1917 in Blue Creek Township, in Adams County, he was the son of Orval and Martha White-Morrison. He was married on May 12, 1943, to Olive M. Ridenour, who survives. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with calling from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, 2-7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday. Burial will be in Tricker Cemetery. Full military graveside services will be conducted by the Homer Pierson Post 207 of the American Legion, Willshire. A homemaker, she was a former Decatur resident. She was born to Emerald and Naomi Maddux/Cousino in Monroe, Michigan on July 10, 1930. She married Benjamin F. Hower, Sr. on July 8, 1950. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1996. Survivors include two sons, Benjamin F. Hower, Jr., Wapakoneta, Ohio; and Carl Hower, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Mrs. James (Faith Marie) Sanmour, Decatur; a sister, Mrs. Hack (Mary) Dutt, New Haven; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Haggard & Armes Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. today.
