Mrs. Harris died Friday in the Henry county hospital. Attending the funeral besides Mr. and Mrs. Grabill, included Francis Geimer, Hubert Zerkel and Bill Justice, all of Decatur. GRABER Henry P. Graber, 77, of 465 Columbia Ave., Berne, a lifelong resident of Adams County and a retired farmer, died at 10 p.m. Friday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital. He had been in ill health for several years. Born Jan. 10, 1898, he was a son of Peter F. and Rosina Mazelin-Graber, and was married to Adella Habegger, who preceded him in death. He later married the former Rachel Schwartz and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elmer A. (Evelyn) Rich, Mrs. Marvin D. (Eileen) Sprunger, and Mrs. Winston (Delores) Moser, all of Berne; one son, Don of Berne; three sisters, Mrs. Dan D. (Leah) Schwartz, and Mrs. Sylvan D. (Lucy) Habegger, both of Berne and Mrs. Noah (Amanda) Steury of Sun City, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Yager Funeral Home, with burial at Mazelin Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday. Rev. Robert E. The father is employed at Dunbar furniture in Berne and the parents are members of the High St. United Methodist Church in Geneva. He was employed as a maintenance man at Glenmore Farmers Grain Co., in Glenmore, Ohio and was a member of Trinity Friends church in Van Wert, Ohio. "Jerry" Koomler, 82 of Decatur, formerly of Lake George, Indiana, died at his residence on Monday, November 10, 2008. He was the son of the late Allen R. and Clara Drewery Koomler. Jerry was born on April 6, 1926, in Fort Wayne. He married Doris B. Spiegel; she survives in Decatur. Jerry is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Sharon) Zankowski of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Jennifer Boger of Fort Wayne; and Mrs. Stu (Roxanne) Travelbee of Fort Wayne; one stepson, Stewart Spiegel of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Anthony (Beverly) Wagner and Mrs. Kevin (Dianne) O'Shaughnessey of Decatur; twin brothers, Ronald Koomler of Anderson and Donald Koomler of Angola; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was a district manager for Chrysler Corp. from 1960-79 and retired in 1987 from Schwartz Ford in Decatur. He was a member of American Legion Post 423 of Orland, Indiana, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7205 of Angola. He served his country during World War II and the Korean War in the United States Navy. Calling will be Wednesday, November 12, 2008, from 3-8 pm at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Barnhardt, age 5, daughter of Thomas D. and Patricia Rousseau Barnhardt of Spring Glen, PA, died early this morning at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne of an accidently-inflicted gun shot wound suffered Tuesday afternoon in a Fort Wayne apartment complex. The child was born in Peru, Indiana, June 7, 1969, and was a member of the Catholic Church. Surviving in addition to her parents are one brother, Zachary William, at home; the maternal grandmother, Mrs. John (Mary) Jauregui of Chapala Jalisco, Mexico; and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Barnhardt of Higgens, Pa. The body was removed to the Gillig-Doan-Sefton Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m Friday. Carl Schamerloh, who was killed in action in France last fall, will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, northeast of Decatur, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Arrangements for the service were announced today by the war victim's wife, Leona, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schamerloh of Union Township. Rev. E. Allwardt, pastor of the church, will conduct the altar service, and Rev. William II Remmert, former pastor, now of McAllen, Texas, will deliver the memorial sermon. Pfc. Schamerloh was inducted into army service November 17, 1942, and after receiving training at Camp Wheeler, Ga., was sent overseas in March of 1943. He saw action in Africa and Italy, particularly on the Anzio beachhead, and marched through Rome with his company. When the theater of war for his outfit changed to Southern France, he was shifted to that field of action, where he was killed September 9, 1944. Laisure, who died July 7, 1933. She was a member of the Winchester U. B. church near Monroe. He was a commerce teacher in township schools near North Manchester. He was born in Decatur April 5, 1909, a son of O. V. and Mary Catherine Stoneburner-Dilling, and was married to Mary Ruth Henricks (sic) Nov. 2, 1935. Mr. Dilling was a member of the Church of the Brethren at North Manchester. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Manchester Church of the Brethren, the Rev. H. F. Richards officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at North Manchester. The body was removed to the Bender funeral home at North Manchester, where friends may call until 1 p.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of the services. KRUGH IS TAKEN BY DEATH Heart Attack Fatal to Local Resident Ernest O. Krugh, 78, well-known retired machinist of this city died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 5 o'clock Monday evening in his room at 104 E. Jefferson Street. He had not been ill and was downtown several times earlier Monday. He was born in Mercer county, O., March 10, 1877, a son of David and Ninerda Archer-Krugh, but had lived in or near Decatur for the past 50 years. His wife, Dollie, preceded him in death. Mr. Krugh was a member of the Moose lodge in this city. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marian Brodbeck of Decatur; two sons, Vernon Krugh of Decatur and Robert Krugh of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. George Shineldecker (sic) and Mrs. Vernon Longsworth of Ohio City, O., and Mrs. Glenn Baughman of Pioneer, O. Four daughters, two brothers and one sister are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gillig & Doan funeral home, the Rev. H. J. Welty officiating. Burial will be in the Tricker cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 o'clock this evening until time of the services.
