Hello. Can someone please tell me where this cemetery was located, for example what township it was in and what road it was on. My g-uncle Kib Hudson was burried there in 1901. Thanks! Trina
Does anyone have anything on Mary Caroline McMichael. 1866-1944. Married to Samuel Robert Linton on 29 Nov 1887 ? Lived in the Berne area. Also.....Is there anyone in the Decatur area that has access to a picture of Robert S. Peterson 1845-1911 ? He was a civil war officer, town attorney for Decatur for many years. I would be forever in your debt (will also pay for copies, etc.) Thanks.............. john and linda peterson p.o. box 6803 ozona, florida 34660
I am interested in descendents of Thomas Baltzell. Is anyone else doing research on the Baltzells? Also am checking a previous genealogy for accuracy. JaneCullar@aol.com
HI Mary, I'm sending this as a CC to the Adams Co., IN & Teeter list so they might be able to help. I don't have a Mary Maria Teeter b. 1845 in my files. My own line was still in Darke Co., OH that year but soon moved across the state line into IN. I have a possiblity for her parents though. I show a Isaac & Naomi Harter Teeter who married in Miami Co., IN in 1835 & had 5 children however I don't have their names. I don' t have any Premers in my files either. What were the names of Mary & Samuel's other children? That could be a clue. Thanks! She married Samuel Premer, a Civil War vet who died in 1922. She and Samuel were the parents of Sylvia Premer, born near Portland, July 1868. Somehow, the family ended up in Nebraska, all buried at Dry Creek Cemetary near Bartley, NE. Thank you for any help you may offer. Mary H. Wight
For your information, Selby Publishing and Printing in Kokomo has reprints of three Adams Co. resources: 1887 Biographical and Historical Record 1850 Census (soft bound) Adams Co. Marriages, 1836-1844, compiled by Etta Lochner I am not necessarily recommending this company, as there are others that may have these and other publications. I'm just providing this for your information. If you know of others, please let me know. Great news--- You can now view the 1850 Federal Census for Adams Co. by going to the web site and following the link under Adams Co. Archives. The census is divided up into several sections, for easier loading. You can search each section by using your browser's find function, usually CTRL-F. That should allow you to enter any text string to search for on the page that's currently loaded. Remember, too, that last names can be spelled various ways in the census records, not always the way you think they should be. Therefore, a line by line browsing may be more beneficial than a text search. Because these are transcriptions, name spellings are kept the way they show up in the actual census records. Remember that this is secondary information, because it has been transcribed, and may be subject to errors in reading and interpretation. Some of those census records are very hard to decipher. Many thanks go to the volunteers with USGenWeb who have worked on this project. Have fun!! This is a sister to the Joseph R. Smith line I have been working on. She is JEMIMA SMITH b. 1808 Washington Twp, Guernsey Co, OH. m. JOHN D. BRILL - she died 1853. He died soon after. They were buried in Blackstone Cemetery. They had 7 children whose names I would like to have. Does anyone have anything on any of them? Faith Keahey@cyberhighway.net
Looking for information on my gg-grandmother Harriet "Hattie" Steele. She was born to Martha and John Stevens probably in Knox Co. Ohio. I have no birth date or death date for her. She married Thomas Hudson May 30, 1875 in Adams Co. IN. Had the following children; William, Milo, Marion, Mary Louisa, and Homer. I believe that they had divorced around 1885. I have a photo of her three Steele children; John, Cleo, and Maxine. I do not know the first name of her new husband or their marriage date. I assume probably around 1890. Any info greatly appreciated. I keep running into dead ends on Hattie, I just can't seem to find anything on her. Trina
