It's great to hear from you! I have been looking for descendents of James Dirrim forever! I just returned from a trip to Utah to photograph and saw your message. Susan Harkless was the sister of my gr-gr-grandfather, Phillip Harkless. I have been working on the Harkless family for over 35 years (geesh, since high school. I would love to include these folks. I have some information on the descendents of James Dirrim, but it is far from complete. Do you know of any present descendents of James Dirrim and his first wife, Susan Harkless?? I know that they had a son, and I have traced part of his line to, oh probably, 50 years ago where I loose them. I don't have my information with me right now. If you would care to write me directly, my email is [email protected] Great to talk with you! Eilene Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I have not pursued my Miller family as there are too many Millers. However in the1860 census Alva Miller was living in Union Township Adam County Indiana. In 1850 he was living in Big Beaver, Lawrence, PA. Alva and Margaret May had the following children. Harvey S Miller, b. Aug 1847, Pennsylvania; d. Aug 06, 1916, Union Township Adam County Indiana. William J Miller, b. 1854, Indiana. Minerva J Miller, b. 1857, Indiana. Steven Miller, b. 1860, Indiana. Elmer Miller, b. 1863, Indiana; I suspect this is a family but other than proximity have no confirmation. Alexander Miller patented land on the Mahoning River in Mahoning Twp Lawrence Co Pa in 1841. Per the Census 1850 Alva and Margaret are living next to John F? Miller b:1814 and his wife Catharine b:1816. In 1870 Susan Miller b:1796 is living next to Alva and Margaret. As I said I have not pursued the Millers, but if this sounds familiar, I would be glad to share and working with you to learn more about this family.
