Born in Adams County on March 19, 1892, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Hower-Sovine, and was married on April 7, 1917, to Clara Call; she died Nov. 5, 1967. Survivors include two grandchildren and one brother, David L. Sovine, Pleasant Mills. Hi, You might try looking at the family trees on ancestry.com which is free. I found several submissions on the family of Samuel Morningstar who married twice; Josephine Morningstar being from his 2nd marriage. Found in 1860 and 1870 census in Blue Creek twp., Adams Co., IN Hope this helps. Uhrick, 62, lifelong resident of Decatur and vicinity, died Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Adams County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week. Death was due to complications. Mrs. Uhrick had been ill the past four weeks and Saturday underwent an operation. The deceased was born July 13, 1873 in Adams County a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Diehl. Her entire life was spent in Decatur and Adams County. She was a member of the United Brethren Church. Mrs. Uhrick is survived by her husband, Frank, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Ralph Shady, Mrs. Mary Staley, Mrs. Richard Myers, Luzerne Ernest, Paul, and Mrs. Roy Kusmann (sic; should be Klusman) all of Decatur. A daughter died in infancy. A sister, Mrs. J. O. Brown and a brother, Amos Hetrick of Craigville and seven grandchildren also survive. Her first husband, John Johnson preceded her in death in November 1895. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday at 3 p.m. with Rev. H. R. Carson officiating. Burial will be in Ray Cemetery. The body was moved from the Zwick Funeral Home at noon today and may be viewed after 1:30 o'clock. Ketchum, 68, of 947 Mercer Avenue, prominent retired Decatur school teacher, died at 7:53 o'clock Friday evening at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, following an illness of two weeks. Mr. Ketchum retired three years ago as head of the industrial arts department of the Decatur High School after serving for 37 years in the Decatur school system. He graduated from Ball State Teacher's College in 1928 and received his master's degree from Indiana University in 1939. He taught eight years in the Jefferson Township school, moving to Decatur 40 years ago when he became associated with the city school system. Mr. Ketchum was also active in church circles, serving as Sunday school teacher for 20 years at the Decatur E.U.B. church, where he was a former trustee, and secretary-treasurer of the Decatur E.U.B. Men's Club. Born in Jefferson Township December 12, 1899, he was a son of Marion and Mae Barr-Ketchum. He was married to Miss Rosa Byer August 25, 1925. Surviving are his wife; one son, Jerry (sic) M. The youth, a student at New Haven high school, was pinned under the car when the jacks which were placed under the front of the car slipped, dropping the vehicle on his chest. Young Garwood was pronounced dead on arrival at the Adams county memorial hospital at 11 a.m. Sunday. Coroner Richard Linn said death was caused by a crushed chest. The tragedy was investigated by Linn and the Adams county sheriff's department. The accident occurred while Garwood was visiting at the home of a sister, Mrs. Jerry Ross of Decatur route 2. The youth was born in Decatur March 5, 1952, a son of Ivan, Sr. and Lucille Schaffer-Garwood. He attended the North Adams school at Monmouth, where he was a member of the student council, and the freshman basketball and baseball teams. He attended the Nuttman Avenue United Brethren church. Surviving are his parents; six brothers, Ivan E. Garwood, Jr., of Magley, William E., Thomas F., James L., Terry W., and Timothy D. Garwood, all of Fort Wayne; and six sisters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Waidelich and Mrs. Larry (Judy) Burkhart, both of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Jerry (Sue) Ross of Decatur route 2, and Tanya, Leah and Connie Garwood, all at home. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Nuttman Avenue United Brethren church, with Rev. Sylvester Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the Zwick funeral home after 7 p.m. today and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church until time of the services.
