Reber, 73, widow of Ezra Reber, died Tuesday morning at 7:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Van Bowman, two miles west of Monroe. Mrs. Reber was born December 29, 1860, a daughter of Noah and Ellen Stalter. Her marriage to Ezra Reber took place on January 1, 1878. He preceded her in death six years ago. The following children survive: Marion Reber, Mrs. Van Bowman, Mrs. Noah Hendricks, Earl and George Reber, all of Adams County. Twenty-eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Bowman home, and at 2 o'clock at the Christian Union Church at Honduras. Burial will be made in the Pleasant Dale cemetery. Mr. Hirschy worked for the highway department for 18 years. He was a member of the Monroe United Brethren Church. Born in Adams County on Sept. 21, 1918, he was the son of George and Ida Biberstein-Hirschy, and was married to Ruth Myers on Oct. 2, 1937; she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dale L., Marion; Bill Edward, Berne; Dewain L., route 2 Portland; five grandchildren; four brothers, Noah, Roy and Sylvan, all of Monroe; Chester, Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Esther and Edna Hirschy, Monroe; Mrs. Oscar (Sylvia) Bertsch, Bluffton. Born on June 21, 1911, in Adams county, he was the son of Raymond and Delphia Moeschberger-Bluhm, and was married on March 25, 1933, in Vera Cruz, to Lois Zurcher; she survives. He retired in 1978 from the Decatur Salvage Co., after working there 45 years. He began his career when Felix Maier owned the business; later, the Imel family purchased it. Jacobs of Route 6; three sisters -- Mrs. Paul (Florine) Gerber of 1510 Madison St.; Mrs. Robert (Nora) Parker of Fort Wayne; and Mrs. Marion (Barbara) Sipe of 840 N. 12th St.; a brother, Norman Jacobs of Dayton, Ohio; a half-sister, Gladys Gibson of Hoagland; 11 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. She was married on September 27 of 1963 to K. Richard Peterson, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Joe (Linda) Eyanson, route 6, Decatur, and Vern and Kenneth, both at home; and her stepmother, Mrs. Lottie Mitchell. Mrs. Myers, who moved to this city from Willshire in 1947, was a member of the Union Evangelical United Brethren Church at Willshire and the Willshire Pythian Sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nellie White of Decatur, and Mrs. Robert (Myrtle) Bundy of Dayton, Ohio; two sons, James Myers of Decatur route 6, and Harold Myers of Anderson; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dr. Archbold was stricken by a heart attack about 9 o'clock last night at his home, 604 West Monroe Street, and was rushed to the hospital. where he died two hours later without regaining consciousness. He had not been ill and had been at his North Second Street off daily. A native and lifelong resident of Decatur, he was born in this city April 23, 1876, a son of Thomas and Angeline Fisher-Archbold. He was married to Miss Nola J. Nachtrieb who preceded him in death, June 26, 1956. Dr. Archbold graduated from the University of Michigan in 1896, and began the practice of dentistry here the same year. He was a member of the Delta Sigma Delta fraternity, the Isaac Knapp dental society, the Indiana state dental society and the American dental society. Active all his life in civic and social affairs of the community, Dr. Archbold was a charter member of the Decatur Elks lodge, a charter member of the Shrine at Fort Wayne, and a member of the Decatur Masonic lodge and Scottish Rite at Fort Wayne. The Decatur dentist served for many years as treasurer and board member of the Adams County tuberculosis association. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Phillip E. Byron of Elkhart; one son, Richard T. Archbold of Coldwater, Mich.; and one grandson, Thomas A. Byron. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Zwick Funeral Home, the Rev. Virgil W. Sexton officiating. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Martz, of near Monroe. September 7, 1892, she was married to John Haggard, and to them were born three children - Mrs. Ocie Johnson, of near Monroe, and Samuel and Addie at home. Marshall, 49, 2340 Sunnymede Drive, Fort Wayne, a resident of Decatur most of his life, died at 4:15 o'clock Thursday morning at the Irene Byron sanatorium where he had been a patient three months. He had been ill for the last eight months. He was born in Tipton county Oct. 5, 1901, a son of Orland and Mary Brown-Marshall. While a resident of Decatur he was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving are is wife, Mary C., his mother, who lives in Decatur, a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Strahm of Flanagan, Ill; one son, Sgt. Clifford Marshall, with the army air force in England; three stepchildren, Rosetta D. Floualer (sp?) of Niceville, Fla., Martin W. Teeple of New Orleans, La., and Mrs. K E. Heimke (or Helmke) of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; one brother, Otto of Jackson, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Ray of Columbia City and Mrs. Pauline Beery of Decatur. The body was removed to the Black funeral home where friends may call after ???. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized until word is received from the son in England. She was born on June 9, 1922 in Adams County to A. N. Peck Hilton and Esther L. Sovine. She married Theron L. Dull on April 1, 1945 (Easter Sunday), he died March 1 this year. Mrs. Dull is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Mary Lee) Beitler, New Haven. She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Alice Hilton. Mrs. Dull was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and was a past president of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and was past Pocahontas of Majella Counsil (sic) 72 Pocahontas Lodge, Decatur. She formerly worked for General Electric and was retired from CTS Berne. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, with burial to take place in Ray Cemetery, Monroe. visiting hours are noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home. Baltzell, 96, a Monroe Township resident from 1939-90, died at 5 p.m. Friday in Swiss Village at Berne, his residence the past four years. He was born on June 16, 1897 in Adams County to Thomas H. and Emma Jane Andrews Baltzell. He married Dorothy M. Ramsey on October 16, 1926; she died on May 29, 1966. He married Bernice Ramsey on September 21, 1971; she survives. He retired in 1967 after many years as a Monroe Township farmer. He was also a pilot for 40 years, including a job as an air mail carrier. He flew the first and only air mail from Adams County on May 18, 1938. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol at Van Wert, Ohio during World War II and the Flying Farmers and the OX5 Aviation Pioneers. He was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, Decatur Masonic Lodge 571, Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne, York Rite, Mizpah Shrine Temple, Adams County Shrine Club, Adams County Calliopers, and Order of the Easter Star chapter 127. He was a former member of the Decatur Rotary Club and a charter member of the Monroe Lions Club and the Monroe Fire Department. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. John (Jane) Cullar, Kokomo; a brother, Victor L. Baltzell, Berne; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Dent and Walter Baltzell, and five sisters, Theresa Adler, Ruth Williams, Electa Lockner, Von Reber, and Crystal Elzey. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are today until 5 p.m., then 7-9 p.m. There will also be Masonic memorial services at 8:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are to Shriner's hospitals. Slusher, 91, 1333 Master Dr., died at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in Adams County Memorial Hospital after having been ill for three months. She was a lifelong Adams County resident. She was born on February 21, 1903 in Decatur to Bealous and Anna Reusser VanCamp and married Orvill Slusher on May 15, 1924. He died in October, 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Decatur, and its Women's Guild. Surviving are a son, Donald W. Slusher, Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Alice E.) Ehrsam, Pleasant Mills; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A son, Ivan E. Slusher; three brother; and two half-sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in Ray Cemetery, west of Monroe. Visiting hours will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
