Oliver, who survives. They were married 53 years. Also surviving are five children, Franklin T. Oliver of route 1, Monroe; Fred Oliver of Berne; Mrs. Harold (Jean) Strahm of route 1, Decatur; Mrs. Robert (Joan) Workinger of Decatur; Mrs. Paul (Janice) Hamrick of route 2, Monroeville; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zwick funeral home, with Rev. William Harsin officiating. COTTRELL DIES OF INJURIES Adams County's 12th traffic fatality for 1967 was recorded Sunday when Samuel C. Cottrell, 81, of Decatur route 3, died at 4:30 a.m. at the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, from injuries suffered in a one-car accident Christmas Day. Mr. Cottrell was the second victim of the one-auto crash, as Mrs. Gertrude Harmon, 65, also of Decatur route 3, was killed instantly in the holiday wreck. Mr. Cottrell suffered a fractured right leg, fractured ribs and chest injuries. He had been in serious condition at the Fort Wayne hospital since the accident, and his condition became critical several days ago. Mrs. Harmon and Mr. Cottrell, neighbors, were enroute home from a Christmas Day dinner at the home of Cottrell's daughter, Mrs. Brice Sheets of Decatur route 3, one-half mile west of Decatur near the new Decatur E. U. B. Church, when his car skidded out of control on the ice-covered highway and slammed head on into a tree on the south side of the road. The accident occurred at 3:55 o'clock Christmas Day afternoon. The accident victim, a lifelong resident of the Bobo area, was born in Adams County July 7, 1886, and was a son of G. B. and Emma Bodle Cottrell. He was married to Nellie V. Springer September 8, 1915, and his wife preceded him in death November 1, 1965. Mr. Cottrell was first employed by the old Holland St. Louis Sugar Co. in the city in 1912, and later was employed by Central Sugar Co., and the Central Soya Co. until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Methodist Church and a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose lodge in Decatur. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marion (Nancy) Robinson of Decatur, Mrs. Ralph (Ida Mae) Clark of Lebanon, and Mrs. Brice (Vera)) Sheets of Decatur route 2; two sons, Don Cottrell of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Frank Cottrell of Decatur route 6; a half-brother, Isaac Rash of Columbia City; a half-sister, Mrs. Leona Marquart of Berne route 1; 13 grandchildren. One son, Earl Cottrell, died in 1942. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. Joseph Gibson and Rev Larry Andrews officiating. Lough Dies This Morning While Hunting Coon John William Lough, 43, of 332 North Eight Street, died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 2:45 o'clock this morning while on a coon hunting trip. Lough, accompanied by Arthur Hurst, Jr., had left on the hunting trip about 8:30 o'clock Friday night and it is believed that over-exertion led to the fatal seizure. The two hunters were about two and one-half miles west of Connie's Market when Lough suffered the fatal seizure. Hurst attempted to aid the stricken man but was unable to carry him. He summoned sheriff Robert Shraluka and an ambulance, but Lough was dead when aid arrived. The victim was born in Geneva, May 30, 1909, a son of Frank and Cora White Lough. Surviving are his mother; his wife, the former Mary Burkhead; four children, Mrs. Phyllis Hutker of Decatur, John, Donald and Sandra Kay Lough, all at home; two grandchildren; seven brothers, Kenneth, Everett and Jim Lough all of Decatur, Gene of Willshire, Ohio, Frank of Sturgis, Mich., Donald of Fort Wayne and Fred of St. Paul, Minn.; and five sisters, Mrs. Gretchen Foreman, Mrs. Ruth DeBolt and Mrs. Idora Andrews, all of Decatur, Mrs. Dorothy Krontz of Sturgis, Mich., and Mrs. Alvena Currier of Kalamazoo, Mich. Mr. Rupert had been employed as payroll clerk for the Central Soya Co., Inc. in Decatur since 1938, with the exception of time spent in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was born near Monroe, Aug. 16, 1906, a son Lewis and Anna Trippe-Rupert, and graduated from the Monroe High School in 1925. He was married to Miss Lucille Oliver July 5, 1928. Mr. Rupert was a member of the First Methodist Church, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enlisted in the army Dec. 30, 1942, and was discharged Oct. 25, 1945, after serving in France, Belgium and Germany. Surviving in addition to his wife are three brothers: William T. and Harve Rupert, both of Monroe, and Jesse Rupert of Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Jesse (Mary) Laughrey of Monroe, and Mrs. Marge Armstrong of Geneva. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zwick Funeral Home, the Rev. F. Hazensparks and the Rev. Willis Gierhart officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery.
