Scottsburg (IN) Journal, November 11, 1914, p. 1. KILLED IN BATTLE Last Wednesday another of Scott County's splendid young men was killed in battle. It was Jud Moore. He fought bravely to the last, for life was dear to him. But he fell in the great battle with tuberculosis. Only a short time ago another brave young soldier, Paul Darrah, was killed in battle with this same arch enemy. Every few days someone you know and love, as you knew and loved these brave boys, silent folds his pale hands and surrenders his life in the unequal battle with the Great White Plague. In this state, 4108 Hoosiers were victims of this war last year. This year the number will be great. What are you going to do about it?
