New Albany (IN) Evening Tribune, October 23, 1895, p. 1. SHOULD HAVE PAID THEIR TAXES Corydon, Ind., October 28-Richard Phillips and his two sons have been arrested for interfering with officers. Two deputy sheriffs went to their farm in Posey Township, this county, to make a levy on property for delinquent taxes. When Phillips and his sons saw the officers, they armed themselves and declared they would shoot anyone attempting to make such levy. The officers procured aid and overpower the men, placing them in jail.
