SKILLED CARVING One of the most artistic and unique exhibitions in the Women's Department is a lot of hickory-nut medallions executed with a penknife by Mrs. Addie Platt Sullivan of Salem, Ind. The likenesses of Lincoln and Garfield on two of the medallions are remarkably accurate. Mrs. Sullivan has exhibited at previous expositions evidences of her cunning in modeling various animals and clay and has also done creditable work on canvas. Considering that she never took an art lesson in her life, these creations are evidence of an innate genius that, with opportunities for cultivation, would bring her fame and fortune
