AN OLD LANDMARK Seymour, Ind., October 26-The first courthouse in Jackson County, erected in 1816 on land purchased from the government by John Ketcham, a 2-story structure of hewn logs cut on the ground, that has been used consecutively for 76 years as a courthouse, church, school house and stable, is still standing in a fair state of preservation at Brownstown.
