Bloomington (IN) Telephone, October 27, 1893, p. 1. Bedford Mail: "Ed Meister of New Albany will begin today to carve a crucifix to fill the large niche over the front entrance to the new Catholic Church. The figure will be carved from Bedford limestone and will be a very handsome piece of work. The cost will be borne by Constant Gyussin (difficult to read) who had already contributed liberally toward the construction of the church."
