    3. Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Progress, January 17, 1872, p. 2. At Shield's Mill seven miles west of Seymour, on the O. & M. Railroad, an old cannon being fired off to celebrate Christmas burst and instantly killed William Dobbin and a blacksmith named Crews. A young man named August Kaust had his left hand so badly injured that it had to be amputated.
