Brown County (Indiana) Democrat, February 11, 1926, p. 1. DR. WILLIAM PRATHER DEAD AT MARTINSVILLE Was Coroner of Brown County for 16 Years and Practicing Physician 46 Years-Age 85 Dr. William E. Prather, formerly of this county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claude Cooper, near Martinsville, last Sunday. Mr. Prather was 85 years of age and was a practicing physician for 46 years. For many years the doctor resided at Needmore and was a leading and influential democrat of that section. He served as coroner of Brown County for 16 years. In 1919 he moved to Martinsville. Dr. Prather was a member of the Methodist Church and a man of sterling quality. He is survived by the widow, four daughters, Mrs. Claude Cooper of near Martinsville; Mrs. Fred Stalker, Lincoln, Ill.; Mrs. Ed Wells of Clayton; and Mrs. John McGee , formerly of Nashville, now of Indianapolis; one son, John Prather, Terre Haute; one stepdaughter, Mrs. W. R. Leitzman, Monrovia; one stepson, Charles McCloud of Hall; and two brothers, John Prather of Mahalasville and Joseph Prather of Martinsville.
