    3. Crawford County (IN) Democrat, February14, 1918, p. 1. DEATH OF MRS. JANE STEWART Mrs. Jane Stewart, who came to English last September to spend the winter with her daughter, Mrs. H. Heishman, died February 9th of organic heart trouble and was taken to Marengo Sunday where the body was laid to rest. Rev. Taylor conducted the services that were attended by a large crowd of people who followed the remains to the last resting place in Marengo Cemetery. Following is the obituary: Leanah Jane Stewart, daughter of Silas and Rebecca Lambdin, was born near Marengo, November 15th. She was united in marriage to David R. Stewart November 8, 1855, to whom ten children were born, three sons and seven daughters. Together in the sweet relations of conjugal love for 61 years, they traveled the long road, and on the morning of February 9th, God called her to the heavenly home not made with hands. Six daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Scott, Mrs. Selena Jameson, Mrs. Zada Byrd, Mrs. Mary Heishman, Mrs. Sallie Mayes, Mrs. Lillie Green; 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends remain behind to praise and honor her name. In 1861 she and her husband were baptized and united with the M. E. Church. Her remains were carried from the old home in Marengo to the last resting place in Marengo Cemetery.
