    1. [IN-SOUTH-CENTRAL] Crawford County: Brothers Died: Robert Leasor Lamb and Noland Rusk Lamb
    2. Randi Richardson via
    3. Crawford County (IN) Democrat, February14, 1918, p. 1. OBITUARY Robert Leasor Lamb was born August 9, 1904, died January 7, 1918, age 13 years, 4 months and 29 days. Noland Rusk Lamb was born at English March 16, 1902, died January 17, 1918, age 15 years, 9 months and 25 days. They leave their grief-stricken parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lamb of Crandall, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Leasor of English, and many other relatives to mourn their departure. It will be noted the two brothers passed out of life just a few days apart. The cause of their death was a very malignant type of scarlet fever. All that medical skill could suggest and all that tender care could furnish was freely given, but these were of no avail and death claimed for his own these stalwart lads of promise. Noland and Robert were welcome in the homes of their neighbors and were the life in the circle in which they moved. They were studious and ambitious for the future and we thought their life might be long and their achievements many. We would wonder while we do not question the wisdom of the Father as he deals with man. Surely his ways are past finding out. The sympathy of all goes out for the bereaved parents who are almost prostrated by their loss. Owing to the nature of the disease, no public funerals were held, and they were placed away in Bethlehem Cemetery with just a few present. Their funerals will be preached at some future time.
