    3. Saginaw (MICH) News, July 1, 1893, p. 2. MISS BARTON IN INDIANA Miss Clara Barton, president of the Society of the Red Cross, is spending a few days at Bedford, Indiana. Miss Barton's unselfish life, devoted to the relief of suffering humanity, entitles her to the reverence of the world. She has probably received more decorations and orders of merit than any living woman. She comes to Bedford to arrange for the acceptance of the large and valuable tract of land donated to the Red Cross society by Dr. Gardner, upon which it is the intention to establish a home to be controlled by Miss Barton for the society-Bedford (IND) Letter.
