    3. Whitecappers were nightriders that attempted to apply their moral values on others. They hid their identity by wearing hoods usually white. In Indiana it was usually against unmarried couples, wife abusers, drunks and others they thought were not behaving properly. They were better known in the South where it was usually racial.The Ku Klux Klan were whitecappers. Vigilantes who wore masks or hoods were white cappers.
