    3. Kalamazoo (Michigan) Gazette, September 4, 1896, p. 7. Note: Consider Dooley as a spelling variant of Doodey and Dodds as a spelling variant of Doods. In a newspaper clipping from the Lexington (KY) Morning Herald dated August 28, 1896, p. 4, Doodey/Dooley and Doods/Dodds were identified as Dodds and Dodds. The latter clipping was shared previously with the IN-South-Central. TWO KILLED BY A BOILER EXPLOSION English, Indiana, August 28-The boiler furnishing the motive power for Lovell & Smith's mill exploded instantly killing Tolbert Doodey, engineer, and Sam Doods, sawyer. William Cummings, fireman, was badly scalded about the body and face. Low water caused the explosion.
