Don't think this is the same line our line is: George Washington Snider Jr born May 3. 1844 Orange County, Indiana. Died 1910 in Kansas His parents were George Washington Snider Sr. born 1820 in Rowan County, N.C. died July 1844 in Crawford County, Indiana - and Matilda Blevins. She then married Jonah L Ruberson in 1848 in Crawford County, Ind. and the family was living in MO by the 1850 census. George Sr's parents were David D Snider 1794-1843 and Barbara Workman 1801-1875. Barbara then married a Mr. Black. We found borth George Sr and David Snider's estate being settled in the 1840s in Crawford County. The line goes on back to: Lewis Snider 1772 - 1842 and Anna Garner Cornelious Schneider 1750-1804 and Anna Maria Ebert Melchoir Schneider and Jacobina Doerflinger. The last couple married on shipboard in 1842 on their way to America George Snider Jr was my husbands great grandfather. David and Barbara George Sr's parents had the follwing children Anna b. 1817 - Rowan County, NC George Washington Snider Sr. b - 1820 Rowan County, NC Elizabeth "Betsy" born 1822 Rowan County, NC Thomas born 1824 Rowan County NC Daniel F. born 13 Jan. 1826, Rowan County, NC John born 12 July, 1827 Rowan County, NC Andrew born 15 Oct 1829 Rowan County, NC Noah born 7 Mrch, 1832 in Rowan County, NC Mary born 1833 in Rowan County, NC Sarah "Sally" born 1837 in Rown County, NC Solomon born 1839 in Crawford Count. Indiana Phoebe Snider unknown Our George W. Snider was born in 1844 in Orange County, and this has confused us a bit as his parents were married in Crawford County, and they owned land there and his fathers estate was being settled there shortly after his birth. We found land records in the English courthouse that indicated that George Sr and Matilda Blevins sold 40 acres there on 10-30-1844 to a William T. Temple. Another 40 acres was sold on 7-15-1844. These acres were sold to his mother and her children: Barbary Snider, Elizabeth Lowe, Anna Sherron, David Snider, Thomas Snider, Andrew Snider, John Snider, Noah Snider, Solomon Snider, Sarah Snider and Mary Snider - Some of the children would have been minors at the time. Can't find it right now, but think that Anna's husband was Jehu Sherron. Our George and Matilda had one older son named Daniel F. Snider. He seems to have moved to Montana. Nadine
I had a wrong marriage date for Melchoir and Jacobina Schneider coming to America. It was 1742 Nadine
