FIRE AT JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA Louisville, October 2, 1866-The tobacco factory, machine shops and foundry of the Southern Penitentiary at Jeffersonville, Indiana, were destroyed by fire last evening. The entire loss will not exceed $20,000 of which a quarter falls upon the State of Indiana. All the manufacturing establishments at the penitentiary are at work today.
