Robertson     Accidentally Killed To: <in-south-central@rootsweb.com> Indianapolis (IN) Sentinel, February 27, 1882 p. 1. ACCIDENTALLY KILLED [Special to the Sentinel] Salem, Indiana, Feb. 26-Friday evening George W. Robertson, David Kirkpatrick and another were hunting ducks along the backwater of the Muscatituck River up Delaney's Creek.  They had a skiff and had put their guns in it, muzzle out.  One of them stepped in upon the end of a loose plank and turned the rifle over, the hammer hitting the plank and discharging the contents of the rifle.  The ball passed entirely through Robertson's head killing him instantly.  He was a prominent citizen and greatly respected.
