A FAMILY AFFAIR Salem, Indiana, September 11-John Myers and his son-in-law, John Brown, got into an altercation and resorted to knives and pistols. A half dozen shots were exchanged, one being effective, striking Brown in the left breast. Both contestants then clinched and began to slash each other. Both are supposed to be fatally injured. The affair occurred on North Main Street near Myer's (sic) home. The men were drinking and are bad characters. The trouble arose from Brown's failure to provide medical attendance for his sick wife.
