Bloomington (IN) Telephone, September 12, 1899, Clipping File, Genealogy Library, Monroe County History Center, Bloomington, Indiana. FUNERAL OF JOSEPH CROUCH Nashville Democrat-"The remains of Joseph Crouch were brought from Bloomington to Nashville Saturday about six o'clock and were placed in charge of the Nashville lodge of K. of P. The corpse was placed in the south room on the first floor of the Knights building where friends called to view the remains. On Sunday morning at nine o'clock, the funeral procession, headed by the Odd Fellows lodge of Nashville, started to the Henderson Cemetery six miles east of Nashville, the Knights of Pythias in buggies and carriages following next to the hearse, then came citizens in vehicles and on horseback making one of the largest funeral processions ever formed in Nashville. At about noon, the procession reached the Clark Church. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. P. Hanna who delivered an impressive address before the large gathering of loving friends who had gathered to pay their last tribute to the deceased. The ceremonies were participated in by two fraternities-Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias."
