DROWNED Pickhold Slips and Man Falls Overboard into Ohio Alva Lingenfelter of New Amsterdam was engaged in loading crossties onto a barge and using a pick in dragging the crossties along the barge when near the edge of the boat the point of the pick slipped and Lingenfelt lost his balance and was thrown into the Ohio. Other employees ran to his assistance, but he was swept under the barge and drowned. The body was recovered and was taken to his home where Coroner S. N. Nye of Corydon held the inquest. Lingenfelter was 40 years old and leaves a wife and one child.
