Dear List: I had made an inquiry about naturalization records to the Chicago branch of the National Archives & Records Administration awhile back. They looked in their index & found the naturalization record that I wanted (Georg SHOOK/SHUCK); they wrote me with the citation for the record (volume/page #/etc) & told me that it was held at the Woodford Co. Circuit Court. I wrote to the Circuit Court & was told that no such record existed (did not explain whether it was not where NARA-Chicago cited it was NOR whether it they did not have that volume anymore NOR whether they had any naturalization records there at all; bottom line: their response was not very informative & was signed by with a first name only (not the person I had addressed it to)). Questions: Does anyone have experience with Woodford Co. naturalization records? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks for your help, Keith Bisaillon Mountain View, CA
