(pages 169-172) Benjamin Groff b June 4, 1762 mar Barbara Kendig and they had 8 ch (not listed). Barbara Kendig is shown therein as daughter of Henry Kendig and Anna Groff b Dec 1735, wp Jan 1771, mar 1756. Anna Groff is shown therein as 4th child of Michael Groff. Michael was b oct 15, 1707, d Sep 22, 1771, Martic Twp, PA and mar Elizabeth Herr b ca 1708, wp Mar 19, 1790, dau of Christian Herr & Anna ____. As to Catherine Herr I find: p 50 - Jacob Greider, son of John Kreider b Feb 16 1760, mar Catherine Herr. p 174 - John Groff b c 1717 wp May 2 1777, Martic Twp (Swamp John) mar ca 1746 Anna Herr b Nov 19, 1727 d bef 1760 ; dau of Isaac Herr; 3 children. John mar 2nd Catherine ______, widow of John Jacob Eshleman, aft 1758. P 165 She (Catherine _____) mar, after 1780, Benjamin Groff, b Jan 18, 1727; wp 1812. This Benjamin Groff previously mar Elizabeth Bar on Dec 14, 1748 who was b May 10, 1725; d Dec 24, 1780. Benjamin Groff was son of Jacob Groff b ca 1699; wp Oct 15 1766, Martic Twp and Barbara Brackbill b ca 1705; d bef 1760. Barbara Brackbill was dau of Benedict Brackbill and Verena Meister. Jacob Groff, the author presumes, was the son of Hans Groff as he appears to have signed the administrative bond for him. I hope this helps - any comments will be appreciated.
