I thought I might title this "A Voice in the Wilderness" but decided on a more helpful name. I really am here and really do read all the mail. I just don't seem to find our little bit of a family. Joseph HILL...born about 1856 by my guess...(where? his mother was from England)...and he was in Minonk by 1888 when he had a formal photograph made. He married on 8 Dec 1880 in LaSalle Co, IL, to Mary Elizabeth BRUNT. Mary Elizabeth BRUNT...born about 1861 by my guess...to Mr and Mrs. Charles BRUNT of England & Ireland and then Mendota, LaSalle, IL...she also was photographed in Minonk in 1888...and she died in DeKalb, DeKalb, IL in approximately 1915. Family tradition says that they "had" a brick yard at Minonk and that it supplied the bricks for the Catholic church in Dixon. The Hills had two daughters. Sarah Margaret "Mae" HILL TWOMBLY was born on 3 May 1886 and died, in DeKalb, in the mid 1960s. Her husband was John Francis TWOMBLY of DeKalb. They had three children. The second daughter, Florence HILL HUGGINS was born about 1889? She and her husband, William "Will" HUGGINS, had two children. If you are aware of this family, and able to add even a small bit of data about them, please be encouraged to write. I'd like to discover more about them in order to expand this part of my daughter's family tree.
