    3. There is a short biography about one Fred Bechtel and his family in The Past and Present of Woodford County, Illinois (Wm. Le Baron & Co, 1878). Perhaps Fredrick was his son? "Bechtel, Fred, farmer; P.O. Eureka. The subject of this sketch was born in Germany, in 1834; came to America in 1851, and landed in New York, where he remained for one year; thence to Cincinnati and Hamilton, O., where he was engaged at his trade, as baker; from here he came to Illinois, and settled in Tazewell Co., thence to Woodford Co., in 1857; married in 1860, to Miss Annie Lebengood, of Switzerland. Four children--Fred W., Lizzie M., Samuel, Emma. Mr Bechtel owns a fine improved farm of 344 acres, one of the finest farms in Woodford Co; his parents are both dead. Father died when Mr Bechtel was quite young, leaving him to carve out a living; today, he is one of the successful farmers of Woodford Co." Amy Robbins-Tjaden atjaden@mindspring.com I am seeking information on Fredrick (Fred) and Hanna (Hannah) Zimmerman Bechtel who lived in Eureka, IL.
