    3. Hi Mary, It's always nice to get to "know" the family on quests like this, so thanks for the info.  Another lister, Mike Saunders, provided me with possible contact information for Doris' two children, so I hope to connect with them soon.  By the way, Mike also said that Doris died in November 2001 at age 102! Thanks for the additional info, Mary. 3. I’m seeking the family of John Mutimer, born England 15 April 1826; died 17 Nov. 1906 in Rockford, Winnebago Co., Ill., bur. Cedar Bluff Cemetery. His first wife was Susan Heagle (spelled as Hiegle on her tombstone) born 1828 Fulton Co., New York, died 24 Jan. 1899 in Rockford. it is Susan’s lineage that I am most interested in. Her parents were John B. Heagle and Mary____. They died in Montgomery Co., NY. I have this lineage back to the Progenitor of the family but there is a link missing, proof of her grandparents. John and Susan’s son James W. Mutimer, was born July 1850 (census) Amsterdam, Montgomery Co., NY. He is residing in Rockford in 1900. Son Harvey W., b. May 1891. I have not located James W’s burial place yet. How can I procure Susan’s Death Certificate and Obituary? Deanna Smith Palatine Bridge, Montgomery Co., NY

    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of a man taken at the Risberg Studio in Rockford, Illinois. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with the man likely in his 40's or 50's at the time. The name "Mrs. B. LINDMAN" appears on the back of the photograph as if she is the person who ordered the photographs made. The address shown on the back is "1418 6th Avenue". I am guessing that it could be his wife who ordered the photographs. I am hoping to locate someone from this family, so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. Thanks, Shelley

    3. In April I posted a message regarding access to St. James records. My computer crashed and I am now just getting back to my search for records regarding Jeffrey Burke, born about 1830 in Ireland and his wife Mary Quigley born about 1832 in Ireland. I believe they may have married in Rockford in February 1857. They had a son Jeffrey, born December 1857. I will be in Rockford around June 18th and would like guidance on whether parish records are available. I am looking for their parents names, and a clue to which county in Ireland from which each immigrated. The family moved to York County Nebraska 1873-1880. I will also be looking at the courthouse, but would love to be able to see parish records or at least stop to request records in person. Thanks for any help.

Unable to find anything on his death.  Someone I had asked to do a search for records could find nothing and said that there was a massive cholera epidemic in IL in 1852 and no records were kept of the deaths.  Informed me that they were just buried as quickly as possible.  Were no records kept at all? Keep thinking there must be a McClain who was related to him either in Rockford, IL or elsewhere that would have known about his death.  I have copies of the marriage license of Ellen and James McClain but very little is on it.
