Researching James K. Polk Taylor, born 1844 in Marion, IL to Billington Taylor and wife Sarah (Lemens). Jame K. had a son Joseph Alonso Taylor born 1867. I am trying to find out who the wife of James K. was who gave birth to Alonso. Some research suggests a Sarah Morgan, but one record reports the marriage in 1876, 9 years after Joseph';s birth. Joseph's death certifcate only has "D.K." as the mother. Any help would be appreciated. Also family lore has it that this "D.K" was Cherokee! John Chovan
