Hi- Join the club!! I also had a ggfather that was supposed to be full blood Cherokee from the Johnson Co-Union,Williamson Co area. His name was George Washington Johnson and only have a marr rec, no census on him. He either died young or divorced, not sure which. He marr Margaret Mary Catherine Maze/Mays 1871 Aug 10 in Union co, a daughter, Margaret Lydia Johnson b 1872 Jul 27 Jackson Co and a son Robert Van Buren Johnson b 1876 Nov 18 in Stonefort, Williamson Co, IL. This is all I've been able to find on this guy. His wife Mary Catherine Maze Johnson remarried to James Wiley Henderson 1878 Jun 09 in Johnson Co, IL. I've not been able to narrow his age down, which doesn't help. He missed the census records (that I've found) There are 5 or 6 with the same name, but no idea if one is him or not.
