My gt grandmothers name was Eliza Elvirey (Menees) Mcginnis Farmer. She was born 1839 in Carterville, Williamson Co., IL and died in Tillamook Co., OR in 1894. She was first married in Union Co., IL to Phineas McGinnis, she had 3 sons that I know of with him then she married in 1864 Union Co., IL Axom D. Farmer. She had several children with Axom and they headed to OR in the mid 1870's. I have a record dated July 1879, Tillamook Co., OR where Eliza granted her attorney, power of attorney to dispose of land which was her grandfather's James Menees. I see on the Williamson Co website in the Menees cemetery there is a James W. who died November 1877. I'd appreciate hearing from Menees or McGinnis people so I can get grandma's line correct.
