Hi, Just a reminder. The Saline County Genealogy Society and the Saline County Tourism Board are sponsoring the 2nd annual Southeasern Illinois Genealogy Homecoming to be held September 1st and 2nd, 2001. This will be a great opportunity for genealogy enthusiast with ancestors from Southeastern Illinois, as well as internet "cousins", list members, etc. to get together to exchange information, research, socialize and have fun. Registration at College at 9:00 A.M. on Sept. 1. Some of the planned events are: a.. Workshops at the College on Sept. 1 a.. "Proof of the Pudding - Proving your information" presented by the Illinois D.A.R. b.. One on One help given by D.A.R. officials to help you with your papers c.. "Genealogy on Line" presented by Cherri Flinn" d.. "Family Tree Maker" presented by Donald Duncan e.. An evening program presented by Billy Beal, local historian, at the College. b.. Vendors and exhibitors at the College c.. Surname posting at the College d.. The Saline County Genealogy Library will be open both days for research. e.. The Saline County Circuit Clerk and County Clerk's offices will be open although the hours have not yet been determined. f.. Other libraries in the area will be open for research g.. All genealogy groups in Southeastern Illinois invited to set up tables to offer their resource materials for sale. h.. No charge for attending or exhibiting. Hope everyone can attend.
